The hospital I go to here in Massachusetts (Lahey Clinic) rolled out this great cloud-based tool called “My Lahey Chart.” It is a portal that both patients and doctors can log into. It holds all my medical records, appointments that I have been to, upcoming events, and medications I am on and have been on. I can also look back to see surgeries, illnesses, and every note my doctor ever made on my file. There is even a built in communication feature between myself and the doctor. For example, my doctor makes a note on my file after a checkup requesting bloodwork. I am notified, and an appointment booking call comes my way. It is all very streamlined. This is a step toward the future of healthcare.
